The ticket price is $5 for a single ticket. Discounted ticket bundles are available at ten for $40 and 20 for $50. Individual purchasers of raffle tickets must be 18 years of age or older and may include volunteers, vendors, their spouses, family members, friends, employees and business affiliates of the Friends of Rushern Baker Committee, all may purchase tickets and are eligible to win all prizes. Staff persons whom have been compensated by The Friends of Rushern Baker in the past 24 months, members of the candidate's immediate family, the candidate, and any officers of the campaign may not purchase raffle tickets and are not eligible to win or claim prizes.
Purchase of the raffle ticket is NOT a tax-deductible contribution. Tickets may be purchased with cash or valid credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover).
All purchased tickets will be considered a donation to the Friends of Rushern Baker and reported as such on all legal filings as required by federal, state, and local law.
The raffle is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. The winner of the Grand Prize (and any prizes over $600 in value) are required to provide a tax ID number prior to receiving the prize and will be issued a W-2G form (Certain Gambling Winnings).
More than one person may share in the raffle ticket purchase.
Title to the property shall be taken in the name or names as they appear on the ticket stub. Title to the property shall be in the name on the Raffle ticket stub and is not transferable or assignable.
A person or entity may purchase a maximum of 20 tickets, but cannot exceed $50.00 in total ticket purchases. No more than 20,000 tickets will be sold.
The person selling the winning Raffle ticket, may be awarded a prize as well.
Each numbered Raffle ticket stub will be placed in the Raffle ticket container.
The drawing is scheduled for July 18, 2009 at the Rushern Baker Prince George's County Family Day. The winning tickets will be drawn by Rushern Baker at approximately 6:00 p.m.
The Friends of Rushern Baker shall appoint a single individual who will be responsible for maintaining control and security of all of the Raffle ticket stubs. Such individual shall, by public certification under oath at the time of the drawing, certify that all Raffle tickets purchased have their stub in the contatiner of stubs where the winning Raffle ticket will be drawn.
The public drawing will be on July 18, 2009. If a sufficient number of tickets have not been sold by July 10, 2009, an alternate drawing date will be announced at the Prince George's County Family Day.
You need not be present to win.
Winners will be notified by phone and certified mail return receipt requested if they are not present at the drawing. All winners will have 30 calendar days to claim their prize or an alternate may be selected.
The Raffle winner is responsible for any applicable taxes and all real estate settlement and closing costs.
Proceeds of the Raffle are for the benefit of The Friends of Rushern Baker of Prince George's County, Maryland a political campaign committee registered with the State of Maryland, Board of Elections.
